DR DF MALAN, PRIME MINISTER AND MINISTER FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS, SOUTH AFRICA (1948-1953)
In the photograph appears Dr Lindie Koorts with Kobus Spies and Karel de Beer at a book discussion at the University of the Free State. Dr Koorts wrote a book on a former prime minsiter who simultaneously held the ministry of foreign affairs in the South African National Party cabinet from 1948 untill 1953. Her work however, focuses on the foundation of Afrikaner Nationalism during Dr DF Malan's lifespan.

Dr Lindie Koorts in casu dr DF Malan

Nogtans baie stimulerend soos byvoorbeeld:
- Die De Beer lyn terug tot in Rusland, Swede, Switserland, Holland en die diaspora oor die res van die wêreld;
- In Suid Afrika aangekom, het die De Beers vining versprei vanuit die Kaap na Kweekvallei --vandag Prins Albert -- duskant die Swartberg pas. Die Fransie Pienaar museum in Prins Albert is 'n besliste "moet" om te besoek...die begraafplaas is ongelukkig verwaarloos;
- Vandaar af loop die de Beers in verskeie rigtings, soos saam met Piet Retief se Voortrekkers na Natal (sy vrou was De Bora Retief, née De Beer) terwyl die ander na die hedendaagse Kimberley getrek het. Die De Beers diamant maatskappy het sy naam van die eienaar van die oorspronklike plaas waar die meeste diamante ontdek is, ontleen;
- In Kimberley het die De Beer familie 'n prominente rol gespeel in die vestiging van die Sewendaagse Adventiste Kerk denominasie...die eerste in Afrika;
