Comments from Willem de Beer in Australia and connected family relations elsewhere refers.  My brother, Floris Petrus de Beer (Fonnie) and his wife Heleen (nee Botha) recently visited their oldest son Neil de Beer and his family in Sydney,Australia. Their second son, Thinus and his family is also about to emigrate to OZ. Quite a number of enquiries about the De Beer family were received from abroad.  These enquiries were all refer to Jaleen de Beer, co-author of the phenomenal research project of the De Beer family in South Africa. Her co-author, Diwwie de Beer, is due to his very high years in age, now a dormant compiler and not as active as before.  However, Jaleen is keeping the flag flying and those de Beers that are interested could send their requests directly to her or to my e-mail address kareldebeer40@gmail.com to forward any enquiries.

De Beers who derived from their respective genealogical history may of course vary according to their respective countries of birth and origen. For example, a very reknoned journalist in France carries the surname, De Beer. The sam goes for De Beers in Germany and interestingly, in Wales !

Connections to Dutch heritages are also intersting to follow.

Polokwane Bella Bella and Pretoria high way nightmare

A Friday and a Sunday evening, the most dangerous route between Pretoria and Polokwane  is the most dangerous to use in southern  Africa!!! Reckless drivers switch to the middle grass lane (read open space separating the two direction tarred roads) and even use the opposite lane against oncoming traffic!!!The dust , caused by this illegal driving, force traffic to slow down to a minimum speed because of the poor visibility... Out of the dust appears headlights coming from the wrong direction !  Lunatics use the open space between the yellow line to skip the halted ques. This situation OF BUMPER TO BUMPER TRAFFIC AND A STREAM OF ONCOMING HEADLIGHTS LASTS FOR 15 KILOMETRES OR MORE...

Where are the traffic officers that anxiously write out fines for speeding or minor offences during day time from Tuesday to Thursdays.??? One should imagine a helicopter with spot lights and night vision cameras and loudspeakers that could be used to enforce traffic rules.  However, it seems to be a one for all and all for one situation...survivor of the most daring drivers !!!!
