BEARS

The names of animals were often used by the pre-historic Assyrians, such as that of the bear. Bears were associated with big strength and were hunted for medicinal purposes. In some Google references (reviewed: 2009-10-30) it was associated with :“Medicine: Awakening the power of the unconscious and subconscious…Cycle of Power: spring and summer well”. Dear readers

My previous blog, http://www.kareldebeer.blogspot.com/ has been added to kalliedebeer.blogspot.com/ Please click on Karel de Beer as team member on my complete profile for previous posts. It mostly deals with my own family history as well as other references to the DE BEER family history in South Africa. In this blog, I will mostly focus on the De Beer roots with references to other sources as well. For example the work of BK De Beer, "Agter die Magalies" (ISBN-0-620-01934-4), published in December 1975 by Postma Publishers. My research is sporadically and not necessary chronological.
